Hi, I’m Rikki R Martinez—I offer trauma-informed coaching that starts with nervous system stability and grows into identity and lasting recovery. Here’s a little about what brought me to this work and how I support clients at YUCCA & LOTUS.
For a long time, I looked “fine” on the outside while my body told a different story. I lived with a constant undercurrent of tension, bracing for the next thing to go wrong. Even when life was calm, my nervous system wasn’t.
I tried to think my way out of it. I collected advice, pushed harder, and told myself I should be over it by now. But the more I forced myself forward, the more I felt disconnected from my own needs.
Eventually, I realized the problem wasn’t a lack of willpower—it was a lack of safety in my system. My body had learned survival patterns that didn’t switch off just because my circumstances changed. That insight became a turning point.
I began learning how trauma shows up in the nervous system and how regulation can create real, measurable relief. Somatic practices helped me feel present again, not just productive. Little by little, I started trusting my signals instead of overriding them.
As I stabilized, something else happened: my identity came back online. I could feel what I wanted, what I didn’t, and what I was no longer willing to tolerate. Boundaries stopped being a concept and became a lived skill.
That transformation changed how I related to everything—work, relationships, rest, and my own inner voice. I stopped measuring success by how much I could endure. I started measuring it by how true my life felt.
Now, through YUCCA & LOTUS, I bring that same stability-first approach to my clients. We don’t rush the process or force breakthroughs; we build safety, capacity, and self-trust step by step. The goal is recovery that lasts because it’s rooted in your body, not just your mindset.
If you’re tired of surviving and ready to feel like yourself again, you’re in the right place. We’ll work gently, strategically, and with deep respect for your pace. You don’t have to do this alone.
